The power of an on-ramp
Over the years I have heard a few versions of the phrase “on-ramp to community involvement.” In one community it’s participating in the adult summer rec softball league that creates the social bonds for people to invite others to participate in volunteer positions. In another place it’s the PTA where people first flex their volunteer and involvement muscles before jumping into other roles. When you look around your community, where is it that people are first practicing leadership and community involvement? Is it something you’re comfortable doing or do you wish there was another way? Email our PowerUp and Engagement Manager, Simone and let her know.
